April Fools: A WhatTheyThink Tradition

By Eric Vessels on April 2nd, 2007

Sadly, April 1st fell on a Sunday this time around so we weren’t able to get you. It fell on a Saturday last year! Trust me, we enjoy getting you. Since we decided to do an April Fools edition in 2003, our writers have had a ton of fun coming up with the best industry spoofs and fake news possible. Who can forget:

Fuji and Agfa combining to make “Fufa” among other merger madness

or The iPotty:

See all the hijinx in years past:

2003: Fuji/Agfa merger and iPotty

2004: The Creo Plate, McDonalds branded iGens

2005: Walmart prints, Xerox becomes “Zerox”

…and remember, April 1, 2008 is on a Tuesday. So watch out!

    “Creo Buys Pfaltzgraf by Accident”

I admit…I fell hook, line and sinker for Wal-Mart jumping into the print business. Because it wouldn’t surprise me if they did. They scare me. I was ready to throw in the towel right then. The idea still bothers me.
