Content Connections Releases Women and Books 2007 Survey Results

Content Connections, an audience research firm has released its Women and Books 2007 survey results (free with registration).

Highlights from the research:

  • Content Connections estimates that the average woman in their study spent $280 on non-fiction titles and spent an additional $157 on fiction titles last year.

  • 54% of women “regularly” or “quite frequently” recommend non-fiction books to their friends, associates, and family. “41% of women “regularly” or “quite frequently” receive non-fiction recommendations.

  • On average, women in the study purchased 11 non-fiction titles for their personal libraries, 6 non-fiction titles which they gave to friends, associates, or family, 11 fiction titles, 1.64 audio books, 1 E-Book.

    Self Publishing and Web-to-Print firms might be interested in:

  • 43% of the women in the study are thinking about writing a book.

  • 61% are genuinely interested in the publishing process.
