By Adam Dewitz on April 15th, 2008

I just heard from Linda White at the Printing Industry of Minnesota it’s “PRINT WEEK” In Minnesota. The proclamation came from Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty last month. The Proclamation states:

WHEREAS: More than 1,000 printing companies employ nearly 44,000 Minnesotans and pay more than $2.1 billion in total wages in Minnesota; and

WHEREAS: The printed words produced by Minnesota’s printers are delivered into the hands of hundreds of thousands of people through books, magazines, newspapers, technical manuals, brochures, leaflets, flyers, postcards, tabloids, forms, maps, informational publications, newsletters, invitations, mailers, and advertising; and

WHEREAS: The printing industry, in the spirit of enterprise, is committed to encouraging and supporting students who are interested in choosing a career in the printing industry, making opportunities available for tours, internships, scholarships, job fairs and resume services; and

WHEREAS: The printing industry will celebrate the glory of print at their Star of Excellence Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 17, 2008, where they will honor printers who demonstrate the best of Minnesota printing in a premier print awards ceremony.

What a great concept! Makes me want to move to Minneapolis.
From your new commercials with the actors’ name I am not familiar with?
Jeff Daniels? Seems like your state offers incentives to new businesses and old.
Great move to get this print industry up and moving forward.
Consider that print supports PR,Branding, Retail,Manufacturing and High Tech to name a few…
Can you get the governor of California to commit to a project like this.
Way to go governor. You just made a fan of the great state of Minn.
    Sincerely,
